Allstate Corporation is the largest publicly held personal lines insurer (NYSE: ALL). Every year for seven years, Allstate reveals the list of the Safest Driving Cities in the United States. It ranks the country’s top 200 largest cities in terms of car collision frequency to identify which cities have the safest drivers, according to the company claim data.
This year, Fort Collins, Colorado was recognized as “America’s Safest Driving City. This is the second time for the city to be at the top spot. In Fort Collins, an average driver will only experience an auto collision every 14 years.
Meanwhile, some cities in Arizona are also recognized. The report revealed that an average driver in Chandler, Arizona will experience auto collisions every 12.6 years, ranking it as the 4th safest driving city.
Tempe, Arizona has made the most progress, improving from the 27th place to the 20th safest driving city.
Phoenix drivers, on the other hand, experience a collision every 10.1 years. Despite being in 55th place, Phoenix is still considered to be the “safest” among all cities in the country with a population of more than 1 million.
In past years, road traffic accidents have declined in general. However, crash-related fatalities, according to NHTSA, still reach numbers over 32,000 every year.
