According to a report by AZ Family, an off duty Phoenix firefighter hit a teenager with his pickup truck and left the scene of the accident. The hit and run car crash happened on a Saturday afternoon when the 56-year-old suspect hit a teenager who was rollerblading near 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive. The victim was reportedly on a crosswalk when the accident happened and suffered a fractured hip.
A witness followed the suspect as he tried to leave the scene and the suspect was apprehended by officers after a short time. The suspect, who has been in service for almost 34 years, was placed in custody and is being held on $10,000 bond on charges of leaving the scene of an injury accident.
