Accidents in which a car has overturned are not a rare occurrence in the state of Arizona. Most people do not know that this type of car accident makes up nearly 19% of total Arizonian fatal car crashes. Specifically, of the 710 fatal car crashes that occur in Arizona, 134 of them are cases wherein the vehicle is overturned resulting in the death of a person involved.
Recently in Sun City, a horrific accident wherein a pickup rolled over a number of times was responsible for the death of two men. This was according to what the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported on Tuesday.
The pickup was traveling at a great speed when they neared the Deer Valley access road. As the road turned a little to the left, the driver lost control of the truck and hit the dirt shoulder, going up and then starting to turnover in a counterclockwise direction. As a result, the truck rolled over multiple times, ejecting the passenger out of his seat and into the road. Officers found the driver still in his seatbelt in the driver’s seat. Both were killed at the scene due to head injuries. Investigators found no evidence that pointed to alcohol usage or drug usage.
One can never be too careful while driving. This is an activity where every possible mode of prevention of danger must be exercised, because the very thing that was overlooked could be the one thing that kills.
