Drunk Driving Accident

Yuma Woman’s Death From Drunk Driving Accident Accounted For

In September, an article reported that a Yuma woman was killed in a single vehicle car accident. A small bit of justice in this Yuma resident’s wrongful death came in the form of a one year sentence handed down to the driver. The driver, who had previously been arrested for driving under the influence but who had been allowed to keep his driver’s license, was reportedly driving drunk at the time the car accident occurred.

Stories such as this show that more must be done to prevent drunk driving accidents in Arizona.

Personal injury lawyers in Yuma, Scottsdale, Tucson, Phoenix and elsewhere in Arizona know the pain caused by victims of drunk drivers. Not only should drunk drivers be prosecuted in criminal court, but when serious injury or wrongful death occurs as a result of someone driving under the influence, personal injury lawyers should be brought in to ensure that those hurt by their actions are compensated. This can both benefit the survivors and their families and serve as a deterrent for any further drunk driving.

Deciding to bring a wrongful death claim can be difficult and, while we think it is important for families who have lost a loved one to pursue legal means to get compensated in cases like these, we know each family must make a decision based on what is right for them. It is not always necessary nor always in the victim’s best interest to pursue a claim to the fullest extent of the law. Sometimes a lawsuit can add to the grief. That is why it is important for lawyers in drunk driving cases to answer questions and otherwise provide the best information so that the family may decide if it is best for them to pursue a wrongful death or personal injury claim.

We embrace our role as experienced personal injury trial lawyers not just in successfully pursuing defendants on behalf of our clients, but also in helping the families who have lost a loved one in an Arizona wrongful death car accident get their questions answered so they can decide whether or not they wish to pursue any type of lawsuit or personal injury claim.

At Breyer Law Offices, we are here not only to effectively pursue compensation after an Arizona wrongful death car accident, but also to help the families decide whether any type of lawsuit or personal injury claim is right for them.

60% of Alcohol-Related Fatalities Caused by Repeat Drunk Drivers

It’s a fact: Repeat drunk drivers are responsible for 60% of alcohol-related fatalities. I learned this little tidbit, along with a lot of other information, from Chris Davis, an outstanding Seattle personal injury trial lawyer.

As an attorney for victims of Arizona drunk driver accidents, I continue to be overwhelmed by this number. Drunk driving accidents are preventable and yet, they are an everyday occurrence. It is time that we, in Arizona and in the United States, start taking drunk driving more seriously. We need to consider a zero-tolerance policy.

One DUI = No More License.

Why such an extreme reaction? Because we have an extreme problem. Clearly, one night in jail and revoking a license for one year isn’t working. If we can save a single victim of a drunk driving accident from having to suffer through years of pain by enacting such a law, then it is time to get it done.

To those in Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Flagstaff, and throughout Arizona who have suffered personal injuries caused by a drunk driver, Breyer Law Offices is always here to your answer questions. Not every victim of a drunk driver should file a lawsuit, but it is almost always best to at least talk to a skilled Phoenix car accident attorney with actual experience in fighting for victims of drunk drivers.

Closing Phoenix Metro Light Rail Early Won’t Stop Drunk Drivers

Every single night, drunk drivers get behind the wheel in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Glendale, and Phoenix. As a result, scores of innocent Arizona residents are injured or killed each year.

If drunk driving harms so many people, why then is the Phoenix Metro Light Rail closing at 11 p.m.?

As attorneys for victims of Arizona drunk driver accidents, we have seen far too many families destroyed by drunk drivers. As a result of our first-hand experience with these types of cases, when we see a golden opportunity to reduce the number of drunk driving accidents in Arizona, we must take it. And not just because it would save tax dollars in paying for people who are injured in drunk driving accidents and don’t have medical insurance. And not even because it would limit the personal suffering caused by drunk driving accidents in Arizona.

We must do it simply because it’s the right thing to do. When bars stay open until 2 a.m., there’s no reason Metro Light Rail should close at 11, which has been reported in an article.

So, we’re calling upon those in charge of the Metro Light Rail in Phoenix, Arizona to stay open later; even if they have to charge more for fares running between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. We need to do whatever it takes to help limit the number of drunk driving accidents here in the great State of Arizona-starting now.
