A kitchen fire in a Scottsdale restaurant resulted in two people suffering burn injuries. According to an ABC 15 news report, the fire accident occurred at a steakhouse in Scottsdale. The Arizona Republic reports that the restaurant’s manager and cook were hospitalized following the fire. One of the victims suffered burns to his hands and the other sustained flash burns to his face. The fire remained contained in the kitchen and Scottsdale firefighters were able to quickly put it out. Investigators suspect that a gas leak may have led to the dangerous Arizona workplace fire.
When most people think of dangerous workplaces, they think of construction sites and roadways but a work injury can happen anywhere. It is the obligation of an employer to provide a safe workplace for employees. In such cases, employees can file workers compensation claims seeking lost wages and coverage of medical expenses.
In Arizona, workers compensation insurance may provide financial compensation for losses such as medical expenses and a portion of the wages lost during the recovery process. Additional compensation may be available for victims of serious injuries that result in either an extended period of time away from work or a permanent disability. Anyone seriously injured in a Scottsdale work accident would be well-advised to seek the counsel of an experienced work injury lawyer.
