Moderate and severe TBI can cause some of the same symptoms that become increasingly worse. Additional symptoms include vomiting, convulsions, seizures, agitation, restlessness, slurred speech and numb extremities.
As you can see, any of these symptoms on their own can be debilitating. A patient with traumatic brain injury will need medical care, therapy, as well as help with daily activities. He or she may no longer be able to work and quickly incur astronomical medical expenses and out-of-pocket costs.
