The Kyrene school district serves to educate many of the school-age children in Tempe before they reach high school. In addition to Arizona State University there is also Maricopa County Community College District which many students attend prior to getting admitted to Arizona State University or choosing to enroll in Arizona State full-time.
Tempe is bordered by Mesa, Arizona on the east side. To the north of Tempe is Scottsdale, Arizona. Phoenix Arizona and Guadalupe, Arizona are located to the west of Tempe. Chandler, Arizona is south of Tempe. Tempe is generally considered very flat except for Hayden Butte which is located next to Sun Devil Stadium. Tempe is also home to many parks. Tempe used to be the home to the Arizona Cardinals who played at Sun Devil Stadium, but the Cardinals relocated to University of Phoenix Stadium and has moved to Glendale. The ASU Sun Devils still play their football games at Sun Devil Stadium.
