Faulty Stove May Result in Tucson Premises Liability Case

By Breyer Law Offices on September 20, 2012

For parents, no incidents are more frightening than those involving their children, and a Tucson premises liability incident reported by KVOA News on Thursday, August 30, 2012, has many parents on edge. The incident happened Thursday when a gas leak occurred in a child development center. The gas leak was caused by a defective valve on a gas stove located in the back kitchen of the center. Emergency medical services (EMS) workers were sent to the sight to evaluate the children who were at the center during the time of the incident. No immediate signs of illness or injury were detected though additional checkups and evaluations by an outside medical provider were suggested, according to reports. Officials have not provided an update on the condition of those children who were seen by an outside doctor.

What to Do in a Tucson Premises Liability Incident

If your child was involved in a premises liability incident, there are multiple steps that you should take to ensure their continued health and safety.

  • Take your child to see an outside medical provider, even if medical services were provided on the scene of the incident.
  • Determine whether the incident was isolated or if similar accidents have occurred in the past.
  • Talk to the child care center director to determine the best course of action to ensure your child’s continued safety at the facility.
  • If you do not feel safe with the center, move your child to a new daycare.
  • Contact a skilled personal injury attorney.

Why Contact a Tucson Premises Liability Attorney

We are conditioned to believe that a premises liability incident may just be an accident and that accidents are to be forgiven, but when your child’s safety is on the line, all accidents should be reviewed by a skilled Tucson personal injury attorney. The Husband and Wife Law Team would review the case data from this incident and help the families determine whether or not to pursue a case against the daycare center for negligence.

If the families decided to pursue a case, we would do whatever possible to secure fair compensation for medical services, time off work during care and recovery, and other expenses.
