Showing Teachers Gratitude

On average, public school teachers spend almost $400 out of their own finances to provide supplies for their students every year, according to a 2010 study by the National School Supply and Equipment Association. That adds up to upwards of $1.33 billion dollars nationwide. With increasing financial constraints on more and more American families, purchasing school supplies is becoming more of a burden and more children are being sent to class without the necessities they need to succeed. Teachers are often expected to step in and cover the gaps.
