Out of Their Own Pockets

The National School Supply and Equipment Association (NSSEA), a trade association for education product companies, found the total out of pocket amount spent by teachers in the U.S. totaled over $1.33 billion dollars for the 2009-2010 school year.

According to a 2010 study by the NSSEA, 92 percent of teachers reported spending their own money on classroom supplies and instructional materials.

"Being able to give back to Arizona teachers is so rewarding because it really just comes right back around through the students they are molding through their classes. We are excited that this program is raising awareness about teacher appreciation while also helping teachers and the community," shared Alexis Breyer.
