Honoring Nurse Cheyenne with a WOW Award
The Husband & Wife Law Team is proud to partner with the Christus St. Vincent Foundation to recognize outstanding healthcare professionals in Santa Fe, New Mexico, through its Wonderful Outstanding Worker (WOW) program. WOW recipients demonstrate integrity, respect, and compassion while going above and beyond for those in their care. Nurse Cheyenne from Christus St. Vincent Santa Fe is the first recipient recognized through our partnership for exemplifying these qualities.
While nominations typically come from fellow employees, Cheyenne was nominated by a patient who experienced her kindness firsthand in the Emergency Room (ER).
Despite the busy ER and numerous patients needing attention, Cheyenne took the time to listen to an elderly patient with patience and understanding. He also noticed her extending that same level of care to others before she even began treating him, showing that compassion was a consistent part of her approach.
In his nomination, the patient shared, “She was wonderful, one of the best [nurses] I’ve seen,” praising the way Cheyenne navigated a demanding environment with kindness and grace.
It was especially fitting that Cheyenne received this recognition during National ER Nurses’ Week, celebrating her dedication in a setting where compassion can make a meaningful difference.
As the WOW award recipient, Cheyenne will receive a commemorative plaque and monetary award, and her image will be featured on The Husband & Wife Law Team billboards throughout New Mexico for a day.
Cheyenne exemplifies how kindness can help patients feel seen, respected, and cared for, even during stressful experiences. We are grateful to the Christus St. Vincent Foundation for partnering with us to celebrate healthcare professionals who make a difference every day.
